The "cones" free part seems to be the hardest for me because I don't like the fact I can't "wet comb" my hair like I used to when I was over-using all my products with dimethicones in them.
So as I have worked through and past my "waxy" stage (using the club soda recommendation, noted here) I have been concentrating my research on natural substitutes for my long-time love for silicones that closed my hair cuticle and gave me the sleek look (even when I hadn't used a flat iron).
This is what I found. Again, I am sharing my information before I experiment, but from what I am reading, it will be worth a try. It is grapeseed oil. I am not going to endorse a brand or anything, yet all indications point to buying the pure stuff. And I do plan to buy some in the coming days and try it out when using hot appliances to see if it truly protects my hair and gives me the wanted results.
Stay tuned and I will keep you posted on my latest natural hair care journey.
